Best cabin luggage to choose in Singapore
Suitcase size and checked baggage coverage always depends on the airline operating the flight. Budget airlines may have a cabin luggage allowance, while mainstream airlines often limit baggage size to 56 x 45 x 25 cm.
So here’s what you need to know about weight and size limits for Ryanair, British Airways, Vueling, Air France and easyJet.
Ryanair baggage allowance
Priority passengers are entitled to one small bag (40 cm x 20 cm x 25 cm) and one piece of cabin luggage(55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm) (maximum weight 10 kg) free of charge. Non-priority passengers are allowed to carry only one small bag (40 cm x 20 cm x 25 cm) free of charge, in accordance with the size rules. Larger bags can be purchased online at a lower price or at the airport at a higher price, with a maximum weight limit of 10 kg.
Ryanair checked baggage allowances
For checked baggage, each passenger can take up to three items weighing 15 or 20 kg, which can be purchased online (€25/£25) or at the airport or decision center (€40/£40).
If the weight of your checked baggage exceeds the weight you have booked (15kg or 20kg), you will be charged an additional £10/kg of baggage, which can be purchased up to 32kg.
For health and safety reasons, Ryanair does not accept items weighing more than 32kg or measuring more than 81 x 119 x 119cm. This weight restriction does not apply to mobile tools.
British Airways baggage allowances
The standard British Airways carry-on baggage allowance states that your normal dimensions, including handles, pockets and wheels, must not exceed 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm. A second bag or laptop case must not exceed 45 x 36 x 20 cm.
The size of the carry-on bag must not exceed the baggage allowance determined at the ticket counter and in the overhead bin located under the seat.
British Airways checked baggage allowance
The British Airways baggage allowance depends on the category of travel and the type of ticket you have booked. Additional baggage fees may also apply.
On routes operated by special airlines on behalf of British Airways, baggage allowances can be very different.
On some routes, these airlines use smaller aircraft than British Airways, which limits the space on board. This means there are fewer load and size restrictions.
Cabin luggage allowance on Vueling flights
On Vueling flights, each passenger is allowed one piece of hand luggage. Its dimensions must not exceed 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm and its weight must not exceed 10 kg. The only exception to this rule is for Premier passengers, who can carry up to 14 kg of luggage.
In addition, each passenger may carry a small handbag or pocket, a jacket or travel blanket, a laptop computer or a digital camera free of charge.
At the boarding gate, a fee of €30 per seat is charged for any baggage that violates Vueling Airways baggage regulations (exceeds the required quantity, weight or dimensions).
